Hi I’m Rebecca and I treat and help all kinds of active people. Like you, my current clients come from a wide range of different backgrounds and require help with a variety of sport and postural related needs.

I have been working as a qualified sports massage therapist for two years and during that time have helped cyclists, runners and swimmers stay up on their feet. I do a lot of work with members of the running community in Hampshire; they participate in numerous triathlons and running events throughout the UK and abroad.

If you followed the link above you will have found that many appreciate the help and support a massage therapist, like myself, can give; having come to see sports massage therapy as a necessity alongside their regular training routines. Why wait for some injuries to occur when you can actively prevent them? With a huge passion myself for road running, trail running and now road cycling and having competed in many running events from 5k to Marathon and sprint distance triathlon; I understand the demands sports can place on your body, and I use this in-depth knowledge to help and treat you.

I am a current member of Julian Porter Cycling affiliated with BC (British Cycling) and CTT (Cycling Time Trials) and Lordshill Roadrunners a club that I have been running with for 6 years.

So what’s the story?

Through my love of being an active person who first found running and, then as my competitive side grew, subsequent injury; leading to the need for first hand experience of  being on the receiving end of sports massage therapy. I realised the significant benefit to my rehabilitation and restored performance. It was then that I decided to train and qualify as a sports massage therapist so that I could bring those benefits to you.

In my formative months I moved from my treatment room at home to a treatment room at Studio Red Fitness Gym in Shirley Southampton. I have been enjoying the opportunity to meet and work with the gym members who present me with a different range of needs to those mentioned above. Most recently I and Studio Red have move to new premises now shared with Exile Gym an MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) training facility above Sainsbury’s supermarket in Shirley precinct. As a result I am able to offer you a higher level of quality in the service provided.

However, sports massage is not only for sporty people. Office bound workers, manual labourers and busy Mum’s are also among my regular client base. Everyone can benefit from Sports Massage, Kinesio taping and Hot stones therapy; I work with individual body needs to gain the required results.

Qualifications include:

VTCT level 4 Diploma in sports massage therapy

VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Anatomy, physiology & sports massage therapy.

Certificate in Kinesio taping.

Diploma in Hot Stone Massage.

I am currently studying for an Active IQ level 3 Diploma in Fitness Instruction and Personal Training.
